Poor Radio reception

I have the Mach Audio system in my truck, but the reception sucks! The search will often not find a station, and the stations I do find it seems that they lose signal strength when I get 10-20 miles away.

Any Ideas why this is>

Check your antenna lead from the radio all the way to the antenna. It might be chafed somewhere and grounding to the chassis, or might not be plugged all the way into the radio

Mine had the same problem, I replaced the radio itself thinking it was bad. I found the cause in the antenna line behind the glove box. The line had a disconnect plug there and when it was just barely plugged in it would work great all the way plugged in it would not pick up a channel. I am still looking to replace the whole antenna but for now I removed the tip of the plug coming from the stock antenna, plugged in to and taped up as not to move.
