when i push the pedal, nothing happens, push a little harder, nothing, a little harder, it bogs for half a second and then revs high

its just not as responsive as it used to be

heres what i think it may be:

semi-illegal air intake, but i reset the computer a hundred times!!

too high of an octane, i use 89, but thats not much of a difference from 87, so i doubt this is it

my friend in auto tech said my transmission could be getting clogged, they had a similar problem in their car. they said to change the trans fluid along with the oil the next few times, and that should clear things up

anyone else have this problem, or better yet, know how to FIX it !!!

That sounds exactly like what happened to me about 3 months ago on my '97 SOHC. I was driving down the freeway at about 55 MPH when it felt like I lifted my foot off the gas pedal. I thought the engine had died and as I coasted over to the side of the road and came to a stop, my engine was still idleing. If I touched the gas pedal it tried to die. I shut it off and restarted and haven't had it come back since. When I got home that day I pulled my computer out and found that my SuperChip was dangling off the end. I believe my problems were related to my SuperChip coming loose. Do you have a chip?

Try cleaning the MAS. With the "semi-illegal" air intake, it may be very dirty.

what do i clean the MAS with, will gumout work? and how much do i have to take it apart to clean it???
