Backfiring and poor throttle response

My Ex started backfiring yesterday morning at the same time that it hesitates.

It seemed to be getting worse this afternoon, but only backfires when it's cold.. from the driver's side it would appear.. I'll do some further investigations when I can..

I've got no CEL Light on, but I think the bulb might be gone as it doesn't come on when I first start the car up..

It's driving me mad.. any suggestions?

Scan it for codes-this is the ONLY place to start. Anything else is speculation.

Well, my bro is supposed to be getting his Ex delivered sometime this week.. so I'm gonna try to get the codes read.. then ...I'm gonna rob all the bits off his one.. till he gets his fixed.. it needs new chains so it's not going anywhere soon haha
