seafoam and throttle response

i agree, with that kind of milage on the motor and running it thru the crankcase, lord only knows what kind of problems that might create...i learned along time ago my fords like castrol gtx oil in them to keep them clean...i guess thats why there was such a big difference between my big truck and my sorta new to me ranger...

tbars4; Thanks mate , Subaru do a similar thing as a normal part of their sevicing .I wonder what I can find something similar out here in Australia . I change my oil and filter every 5k but I believe over time scum builds up and would place useless tension on the tensioner and chains that's why I asked the question thanks mate

Guys, I'm a little sus about putting into the oil because I reckon you'd have to change your oil sooner rather than later .I read the link tbars4 mate it doesn't go into much detail ie puting it in the bottom end even though it suggests you can but the long term effects well you can only guess . Has anyone put it in their bottom end ?

Mate, I'm No SHEILA sorry to disappoint. I'm a 50 something Vietnam Vet who served with some of your country men so that should give you some idea mate, my surname is Fox ,Anyway I printed off the site you suggested but ther's nothing international I'm sure there would be something similar to what you have over there here if not you maybe able to send me a complementry can !!!!!! I'm also at that stage when I should replace my timing tensioners or the whole kit and caboodle that's why I asked the question whether doing this would delay the inevitable Cheers Foxy

sorry about the sheila thing....ok, so you are the character in the song, the bloke...lmao...i myself have not used this on engines i do not know with lot's of milage on them....if you read the previous post look for cheapthrillex...he has an older engine he is going to run it thru thetop end....as i stated before,i would be scared to run it in the bottom end of something about to go....it cleans it up real good and if it's about seen it's better days, the oil might be all thats holding it together...btw, thanks for your service mate...

tbars4, Mate no worries ! my girl has done 130k and at the moment she's running well I do a oil and filter every 5k and I reckon that has helped but Ford did the recall bit on her at 50k so I might just replace the tensioners at this time and see how I go Yes I know what you mean about the bottom end You could stir up all sorts of things So I might just let sleeping dogs lie for a little while longer Cheers Foxy

this will be my last post of milage on the seafoam since i have added a catback system at the end of this tank...i had 250 miles even, 13.56 gals= 18.43 mpg...not bad for mostly traffic driving...

i would only do it where it is recomended....you might search some more threads first...
