I'm getting a popping noise sometimes when I make a turn on the right side. Could it be tie rod?

Yup,....or a ball joint, or a sway bar bushing, or a sway bar link, or something else loose under there. There are several usual suspects in that area. I wouldn't buy or replace anything till you get it narrowed down. Try shaking the steering wheel side to side. This will usually reveal a loose tie rod end. If nothing then raise the corner and check for balljoint play using a prybar.

I had one do that, turned out cv shaft knucle was bad and the joint was binding when turning

Check the upper ball joint/control arm bushings. They are a high wear front end component on these vehicles.

How do I check that and where am I looking? For the upper ball joint that is?

Look inside the wheel base. You will see a part connected to the top of the spindle. This is the upper ball joint. The ball joint is connected to the upper control arm. This arm has 2 bushings which wear out.

If this turns out to be the problem, will I have to re-align as well?
