Possible alignment fix for pulling to the right!!!

I can't install it because it won't work apparently with the superlift brackets... do you want the bushings? I have them for sale if you want em.

Matt

I was going back through some old threads and saw you bought the overcompensate bushings but had to sell them. I am intersted in purchasing some. Can you tell me where you got them and where I might be able to purchase a set? Thanks

NP

npearman, the buyer never sent me the check. I've got em sitting in my closet. You want them?

Yeah

I'll take them. Do you have both sets? I saw the pictures and was wondering if they came with the washers? Let me know how much you want for them and where to send the check. Thanks

nathan

they don't include the washers, the stock washers should work with them. How does $20 and I'll pay for shipping sound? That way I can cover at least half the cost of them... that's for both sides.

sounds good

tell me who to make the check out to and where to send it. I can also send you the payment via paypal or one of the on-line payment services if you want. Just let me know.

Nathan

Matt, I don't need the bushings ("Money Pit" just got polys a couple of weeks ago) but, since you seem to be GIVING stuff away, what else do you have lying around that you want to get rid of? I might be interested. I might even be willing to trade a few of my family members if you have something really good to trade. (lol)
(I'm keeping the wife, though.)
got any family members, female, between 18-24, over 5' 10"? LOL. Lets see... I have a whole pile here of stuff to trade. I have some quaker state patches, some quaker state stickers, some quaker state banners and quaker state flags and quaker state shirts and hats. Interested? :).

So whats the fix for the pull?

Hey Matt and Gimp,

Maybe I missed something here. Is it the bushings that is the fix for the pull to the right? I've got this problem on my 98 EB.

I'm also wearing the inside 1/2" of both of my front tires. I got an alignment maybe 18 months ago then rotated front to back but this apparently didn't help. The 255/70/16 stones are now making a little bit more noise again at 57K on smooth roads as they did before I had them rotated. Maybe they will get replaced soon by Ford.

Thanks,
Doug

The bushings were suppose to fix the pull to the right problem but they really didn't. It still pulls to the right a little but not as bad as it did. However, I did get new BFG tires and the toe was out when I had an allignment done so those two things may have fixed more than the bushings. I needed the bushings anyway because I had the radius arm clunk going on. It did fix that problem. The poly bushings or in this case the neoprene bushings are much stiffer than the rubber oem bushings but they should last much longer.

Bump

Matt, I know you dont have your truck anymore but did you every get this fixed??

I know I am getting in on an old post, but wanted to try to help those with the right hand pull. Positive caster on the passenger side will eliminate the pull. That wheel when it is leading will actually try to push to the left, as long as toe is not set too far in or out. By setting the right side a little positive and either running at zero toe or slightly toed in should solve the right side pull. Mine had it, and after lift had to go to extreme camber bushings, set my own alignment and at 70 miles an hour, I can let go of wheel, and she runs straight. As far as the bushings that matt was trying, same thing as putting a couple of washers on front side of radius arm bushings. Basically setting caster positive. As far as steering wheel, the explorer wheel only goes on one way, adjustment is made thru the tie-rods, any alignment tech can do it, I would try to explain but it would be difficult, if there is interest I would be glad to give it a try. How do I know this, 20 years experience. Wow I am getting old!
