have you cleaned your MAF lately?

and yes, disconnecting the battery will reset the computer, and you will lose the codes it had stored.

Yes, filter was cleaned and re oiled. Maf was cleaned before and after. Had no effect on the problem

Wow, you guys make this seem hard.
Get a drain pan, disconnect the lines, duck, put in a new filter, cycle the key two or three times from off to key on engine off to restore the pressure, start the truck.
If you drain it at the schraeder valve you will have gas on your engine and on the floor, if you just let it fly and duck, you will have gas in a drain pan (and some on the garage floor).

Is the ck engine light on?
If the ck eng light isn't on, then start with the basics; air, fuel and spark.

So, if I dont bleed the pressure how energetic of a fuel in the face situation will I get? haha You say to pull the lines and duck haha The reason I ask, is because I have to do this in a "community" parking spot (dont have a garage, living with parents during an internship, parking is shared by everyone in our development), and I dont want to have a huge obvious gas puddle on the ground haha.

how sunny does it get out?
that usually helps the gas evaporate quicker

I've never disconnected a fuel filter without depressurizing the fuel lines as much as possible... but you still get a bit of a spray even after getting rid of the pressure.

Its not a big deal. When you depressurize, you can wrap the Schraeder valve with a towel to catch any pressure and when you pull filter just have drain pan handy. The biggest problem is when the gas runs down to your armpit... no fun.
