Hi everyone. Ford Flex owner checking in here. I had a problem recently where the audio and HVAC stopped working while I was driving. Also turn signals wouldn't work. The cluster showed messages that said "Service Advancetrak" and "Tire pressure monitor fault." I kept driving towards home and after about 30 minutes, everything went back to normal.

Anyway, it sounds like a problem with the BCM to me, possibly that the BCM lost power. And I have heard about issues with the power distribution box in the engine compartment. One person on Fordflex.net had to have his PDB replaced, but I guess it's an obsolete part now.

Any Explorer owners having a similar problem? Any idea how to troubleshoot this and fix it?

Thanks

Pete

bump can you read historic codes

Yeah I probably should have checked codes. But I have already disconnected the battery. I replaced the battery, cleaned the battery cable terminals, cleaned the connections for the wires that bolt onto the battery terminals, cleaned the three ground eyelets in the engine compartment (two on driver side fender inner, one on passenger side fender inner) and replaced those three ground screws.

The battery was about due, and there was some corrosion on all of the places described above. So hopefully this takes care of things for another few years.
