i just bought a 1988 ford f150 with the straight 6
its the 300 motor with a 5 speed manual tranny

i have to change the slave cylinder and i have never done this.
can someone tell me how to do this or has someone done this with pics?

I wouldn't expect to find pictures on this site. This is a Ford Explorer site, with some of Rangers thrown in.

Pick up a Haynes Manual. Try searching for an F-150 forum too.

Sorry I couldn't help, never done a clutch before.
 






Ford-trucks.com is problably your best bet for that info... Lots of good info for other Ford vehicles.

I did the clutch on my 90 F250 with the 300 and the 5-speed. Get a haynes, and search here for "replace clutch", it's almost the same. Between the two, you'll have all the info you'll need.
My 5-speed (and probably yours) is the M5R2, a larger version of the M5R1 found in Explorers and Rangers.
 






It's a very easy job. Even bleeding it is a piece of cake. Let gravity do it for you. Just keep an eye on your fluid level so it doesn't empty.
