Has anyone done this, I just want to add a set of tweeters up front to the stock system in a 2003 premium sport.

well u could simply tie them into the wires for the mids but that would feed them the wrong freq the only way i can think of is to add a crossover and tweeters but that gets expensive and u misght aswell just buy components do u really need MORE trebble?...id need more bass =) lol ask expo5.0 though or hotctyplaya they would probably have some way to do it

The bass level is fine "for me". I can definitely tell a difference with the missing components up front though compared to a car that had them.

Hello,
I just did this a few weeks ago to my taurus.
I had a pair of rockfordfosgate componet speakers lying around that were in my explorer when I had it.
At first I installed the 5.25 components with an adapter plate, they sounded like s##t so I put the stock speakers back in and just put in the tweets, It actually sounds pretty good.by the way I used the crossover that came with the speakers.

hmm its kinda weird u are the 2nd pearson to say the stockers sounded better..wonder why

the stock ones sound better because they are bigger and produce a little more bass than the smaller 5.25 speaker
