I have a project 2001 Sport Trac that has the 4.0 V6 that has not run in 4 years or so. Great condition, and did get it to start after replacing the usual fuel pump/filter etc. But while it sat some squirrels needed some wire and they took what they wanted. The Yellow/White wire from the alternator for one. This was chewed off right by the battery past the fusible link. The power distribution box had 2 ring connectors bolted to it that had also been chewed off. I know 1 of these went to this alternator feed. Where would the other one supposed to be going to. Also in this harness where the alternator wire comes out by the battery box is another that has the wire broken and missing. It is not part of the alternator circuit and I strongly suspect this is the second connection to be made to the power box, but dont want to assume anything. There are many wires junctioned in with this missing wire. And tracing where they go is a task as everything is wrapped and shielded, so would take a lot of stripping it back to see. Can anyone offer some insight as to what this connection is and where it is supposed to go? The truck starts up and runs, but of course no charge from the alternator at this point and it wont rev up if I goose it, only goes up to about 2K RPM and sputters around from there. Would the lack of charging system cause this? Or could it be this missing connection?

Appreciate any help I can get.

the white with black wire sounds like the alternator voltage regulator feed, which would explain why its not charging (internal voltage regulator on alternator is powered)

Pictures would help a great deal with the other wires
