Can I spray an electronics cleaner to clean? I don't have an air can or compressor but do have electronics cleaner. I do know I would disconnect battery first but want to make sure the cleaner spray wouldn't damage box

You sure can

I would disco the - batt cable anytime you work on this box

There are 3 relays underneath this fuse section that likely need cleaned and re lubed as well. The factory used lithium grease to keep water out of the relay plug ins

Awesome thanks. How can I get to those relays? Is it directly underneath

Yes directly underneath
I believe there are some screws to remove
Or possibly some tabs you pull and the fuse box lifts up it must be pretty easy because ford expects you to servine these as needed (fuses and relays)

It has been a long time since I messed with a 89-92 style power box

I ended up ordering replacement fuse for entire car and they should arrive this week. When I get them I'll tackle all in one shot and see if I can remove the box. I'll snap some pics for reference

Hi 410. I've a 94.
Mine has another type of power box, the 94 box has the 3 relays underneath too?
txs!

93-94 power box far superior to 89-92

93-94 the relays are in with the fuses

When I do conversions I replace the 91-92 style box with the 93+ version

My 88 bronco ii has A 93 power fist box even still with the 97 5.0 drivetrain

My wife’s FJ cruiser even has a 93 explorer power distribution box… I used it to add many fuses and relays for her accessories
