I am sure someone on here has an answer to my question, my wife's 2000 mountaineers door locks went nuts when she got home today. The remotes wont operate the locks nor will the power lock buttons inside the truck. The locks just keep cycling when i beat on the door panels i got them to stop cycling but still no go on lock unlocking of the doors! The truck is really starting to get on my nerves! Someone please tell me what to do to fix the dam thing so she will get off my back thanks for any help on this guys & gals :)

I had a similar problem where-as my door locks took on a life of their own and would constantly lock and unlock themselves. Turned out one of my remotes went screwy.

I would take the batteries out of your remotes one at a time and see if the problem goes away.

i took the fuse out of the power lock system over night an it seems to have cured what ever was causing its issues for now at least. now if i could just get my drivers side passanger door to open my wife would be happy lol

Does door not unlock, or do the door handles not work at all? If it's the lock, try dribbling some WD-40 down around the lock button. Assuming that does not work, or the problem is the handles, you are going to have to get the door panel off with the door closed. It's not easy, but if you can slide the front seat all the way forward and get a pry tool under the front bottom corner of the panel, you can work it around and get the "christmas tree" pins out, then slide the panel up. It may tear it up a little, but it is doable. You will probably find a broken yellow clip inside the door - that holds some of the rods together. Good luck.

thanks i will give it a try on a warmer day lol im a big guy so i know its going to be a tight fit one reason i have been putting it off
