I need to add a 12 volt socket under the drivers seat on my 16 Limited. I am wondering if any one knows which wire going to the seat harness is an option. I can have it hot with the key or not.

To use one of those wires wouldn't be the best option. You really need to splice into an existing 12v socket (like the center console ones) as they have dedicated fuses for accessories.

One of those receptacles requires heavy gauge wiring to handle a large amount of current. The thin gauge wiring under the seat could handle the current which is required to charge a cell phone but I wouldn't plug a power inverter or a heater into it.

Just a cigarette lighter plug to power a radar gun. Very low draw. Was trying to avoid tearing apart the whole interior to get to the back of one of the other power points in the dash or in the back.

What are you doing with a radar gun and hiding it under your seat for? Doesn't sound legit...
