I just finished replacing some of my power steering fluid, which was very dark red. I replaced it with Valvoline Maxlife, which was a gold color. I turned on my X for a minute and the PS fluid was dark red again. Is this normal? Or am I not getting all of the PS fluid out?

You didn't get all the old PS fluid out' how did you do it?

I used the old turkey baster technique, I know I didn't get all the old fluid out, but I've replaced as much as I could and it still comes back the same dark red. I've tried this 5 times and it is still dark red.

It will continue to be red until you lush out all of the old fluid.

well i did it on a ranger once, i used a brake bleeder kit and a buddy started truck whle i kept pouring t in til it ran clear...needed a bucket though. i just disconnected the lines and let it run out and i poured more in....JUST DONT LET RESIVOR RUN DRY CAUSE IF U DO YOU MAY AS WELL BUY A NEW PS UNIT...turkey baster s safe way to do t it just takes a lot of fluid to do
