Power steering fluid ?

Hello I needed to add some power steering fluid to my 93x, so i looked up what type of fluid it was and i believe it said type F, can't remember off the top of my head, anyway went to the store for fluid and could not find any type f fluid so i bought an offbrand, on the label it said could be used in GM ford, chrysler, etc. Here is my problem, when i began putting the new fluid in i noticed that it was clear and the stuff that was already in the truck was red, will this cause any problems? Thanks

You want to use Type F transmission fluid in your power steering. It should be a nice red color. I don't know what you put in there, but doesn't sound right

It most likely won't be a problem because i only put a little bit in after i saw it was clear, it did say power steering fluid on the bottle, i then decided to ask about it on here, guess i need to go buy some transmission fluid.

If you did, I'd drain the system as much as you can and add fresh stuff anyway. doesn't cost to much and will help cut down on any whine you might experience.
