I just reciently took my truck for an oil change. The tech said that the power steering fluid was low and that he added some. There are no leaks, so I am wondering what could be the issue here. Why would I be low if there are no leaks? Should I be concerned?

Also, yellow antifreeze is supposed to be better than green. Is there truth to this?

I've read that the power steering fluid can squirt out through a hole in the cap when you crank the steering wheel without having the car on or moving. I would assume you have lost it that way if your not seeing any leaks.

and I don't know about the antifreeze... mine is fluorescent green

The orange AF is supposed to be a long term mix. Meaning it holds up better. Most new cars come with this. And it's what I use in my 03 Acura. My X gets regular green though.

Don't forget, the power steering fluid rises when it gets warm. There are two lines on the dipstick; one for cold and a higher one for hot. If its not leaking, don't worry about it. Yes, if ovefilled, it may spew out the breather hole.
