So my power steering went out yesterday and I'm having some trouble figuring it out. I replaced the power steering pump today and that didn't solve the issue. The power steering rack has been replaced recently as well (4 years or so ago) so I doubt that is the problem but it could be, I suppose.
I have checked the reservoir and turned the wheel lock to lock with the cap off and engine on. There are bubbles in the fluid so there is transfer going on but still nothing. Anyone have any ideas for me to try next?
Also, I'm getting ready to upgrade and get rid of this as soon as I find what I want to buy so worst case scenario, what would happen if I kept driving it for a while with this problem? I can handle the power steering being out but I just don't want something catastrophic to happen.
Thanks for the help.
