power steering leak

the power steering fluid is leaking pretty quickly from underneath the pump (its not the pump) its like, right above where the two sides of the steering rods join together on a pivot point. i dont know the real names of any of these so bear with me. what do i do? it looks like alls i need is to replace a seal but idk if that can be done.. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.:D

Probably your return hose. I would replace both hoses and flush the gear box with compressed air while the hoses were off. About $30.
 












The steering gear box probably is the one leaking as it commonly fails before the pump. It would be very helpeful if you can post up a pic or two.
 






Check the pump anyway. My pump bearing seal failed. The pump leaked but the oil ran down out of the pump mounting bracket and dripped all over the hoses and steering box, making it look like the leak was lower down. Just to be sure, check for oil dripping out of the back of the pump mounting bracket.

You're probably right -- I forgot that the pump is typically placed above the steering shaft therfore any leak in the pump would eventually drip its way onto the steering shaft.
