My god man get some spelling. But you best check your pump for leaks around the fittings and hoses. It is possible (but highly unlikely) that you may have actually split the pump along a seam. Mine turned out to be a leaky fitting on the pressure side of the power steering hose. So it got worse and worse until one night all the fluid blew out on the highway. After that the pump siezed from lack of oil and the belt fried leaving me without any accesories for the last 15 miles home. Being my daily driver I had to fix this pronto and went to the junkyard the next day and snagged me a freshly rebuilt pump for 15 bucks. I went to install the pump when I discovered the bad fitting was leaking like crazy and tried to put in two o-rings to seal it but those failed eventually and I finally called a parts store to get a replacement hose. Installed the hose, more fluid and finally no leaks !!! The whining noise you hear can be one of two things : the pump is a ford pump lol OR you ran it too low and now there is air in the hydraulic fluid of the steering system. There is a method to bleeding the steering system that if you do some searching here will tell you. GOOD LUCK MAN

haha thanks..tell me about it i jus rippedout my buddys steering pump outta his 250 dies..that was a monster..but i saw a thread on the stpes to bleed..n thats prolly it..i think it ran pretty dry for a while kuxz it was the famil backup car till my truck crapped out..but imr eally starting to like it..so imdoing some fixeruppers on her to kepe her going..so you suggest chekin around for loos fittings and broken seals..and if that doesnt fix it..then prolly lookin at gettin a new box..thats wut i figured..damn..lol but thanks for your help..and is ther anything else you had..regular maintenance type stuff you notcied..or you can tell me to troubleshoot or take a harder look at..thanks again..

Check all of your hoses, fitting, power steering pressure switch, or otherwise known as the PSPS (they blow out their diaphragms, and leak from where the electrical connector is connected), O ring around the cap, and area where the pulley goes onto. Most of the time, it's just from leakage that comes out of the top of the cap. There is a pressure bleed off hole on it. If you look at the top of the cap, you might still see some fluid on it. I once tried to block that hole with a screw, and my cap flew off somewhere. I put a new cap on it, but still see a little dampness occasionally. You could also try a little Lucas P/S stop leak. Don't use too much, because it expands when it is churned by the pump's impeller. That could cause more fluid to leak out of the bleed off hole.

o-ring, o-ring, o-ring... on the pressure line. 200k miles my stock hoeses still look brand new, if it werent for that stupid o-ring wearing out i would of never had to replace my power-steering pump with inferior rebuilds. Replace the o-ring now before you fall into the same cycle i am =)

it will come out the cap only if the system is over filled, and you steered (lock to lock, or close) with the truck off (pump not pumping), sometimes the cap 'blows off' when you do this.
