I'm hooking up a rockford amp into my explorer, but i'm having trouble getting it to work. I have the power, ground and p-ant all hooked up correctly and i'm not getting anything to my sub. I've tried different RCA cables and messed with the speaker wires, but still nothing.

I'm thinking that there is something wrong with the amp, but since it gets power i'm not sure. has anyone ever had an amp go bad from the RCA's inside or the speaker wire terminals.

any thing would help at this point.

with the amp off check the Ohm's at the speaker outputs on the amp, you should get at least 2 ohm's

well, if you used the power antenna wire as the remote turn on, this would cause a no power condition when trying to listen to a CD. Try listening to your sub with the radio on. It should work now. To fix this, use the "ANT REM" lead from your HU to connect to your amp's remote turn on lead. This will cause the amp to turn on whenever the HU is on, regardless of the audio source. Correct this wiring error and it should work.

ahhh.. yes I didn't even think about that haha..........

Make sure your fuse is not blown in your power wire. I had the same problem recently and didn't even think to check the fuse. Sure enough, it was blown. Put a new one in as was good as new.
