Is it alright if i take a hose to my engine and hose it down in order to clean it?? I'm going to cover the battery, fuses, and air intake, but would it be okay if everything else gets wet, like the all the electrical wires, alternator, etc???

thanks

cover the alternator other than that and what you mentioned above blast away. i would only use degreaser and a regular garden hose because it might be too much pressure with the power washer

just make sure you do it when the engine is cold. cold water+hot engine block=possible cracked block. have fun!

I have been cleaning my engine for the longest and I never cover anything. Never had a problem.

Just warm the engine a little to get some grease loosen up a bit and spray away with a full bottle of a good degreaser and then hose away. Right after, I drive it around the blocks a couple of times to dry whatever needs to be dry under there. A good Armor-All might be in order if you want to shine the plastic and rubber stuff under the hood.

no, its next to the blinker fluid, on the right.
