Power window issues.

I have a 2003 Explorer and last night my hubby put the passenger power window down which only went half way then not any farther. Tried it with the main one on the drivers door and it still wont go down. Tried and it did go up. I dont know if it will still go upas I cant get it down now to find out. I thought maybe the motor but if it will go up it cant be that. Any suggestions?

Check for obstructions in the guide rail. Also be sure to see if the cross brace that moves the window up and down has all the screws in place and isn't loose. You will need to remove the door panel to do this

How would the fuse be an issue if the motor obviously works because it goes up?

while you have the door panel off also check the connections on the motor.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed, and moved your thread to the stock 2002-2005 section. Check the power window switch panel, and the ground connection.

after checking the above another common problem are in the rubber boots between the door and jamb, they have been known to crack or break most common is driver door but check the pass as well.

I would guarantee its just something in the windows way, When I put my tweeters in, on the passenger side door there was some extra slack in the speaker wire, somehow got in the window track, so the window would go down about an inch per 5 seconds, then stop about 75% of the way down.

Confused

OK I had time today to look at my window. For some odd reason when I have my drivers side door opened all the way the passenger side window will go down. When I close my drivers side door the passenger side wil not go down anymore but will go up. If my drivers door is opened only half way it still wont go down, only if it is open all the way. Any suggestions?
