Power Window Motor I'm Stumped HELP **update more details**

Power Window Problem

This past week my 95 Explorer started having the Driver's Side window coming down while driving down the road. I could hear a clicking sound under the dash by the accelerator. I guess this is the same relay that SABLE is talking about? Could you describe where I should look at?
It happens intermittently right now. However it is getting more frequently. Only after it hasn't been run for a day or two and then it starts while I'm in drive after just starting down the raod. It does it for a while/I fight it for a while, and then it stops. (Until the next time I don't drive it for a couple of days or after starting it up and runnng it for the first time in the morning).
I hate intermittent problems:mad: It'll probably have to urn itself up completely before I figure it out. It'll probably happen on a rainy day!!:(

hi bruce.ryan is right, it is the scissor jobbie inside there.I stipped both fronts in decenber 2010 and did my cousins car also(replaced the nylon bushes with steel washers).mine also had the habit of sticking full open or full closed.i would take the inner panel off and give it a slight knock with a hammer on the bolt (i drilled out the rivets), closest to the motor, and it would work again.i solved my problem by copper slipping all the joints on the scissor jobbie as i have to wait up to a month for x parts here, we have to use some initiative9South Africa)

1992 Ford Explorer XLT. Driver front window goes down but not back up. Replaced the motor and the master switch; both times the window worked a couple of times until using the (auto) down a few times then window gets stuck down and will not go up. Looked at the "module" but cannot determine if it has failed. Want to power the window up just to close it but cannot figure out how to do that (bypass the module).

My passenger window sometimes sticks in the down position. Switch clicks, but no window movement.
I happened to be talking to the guy at the parts store about the problem, he walks out to my truck and bangs the door with his fist right where the motor is. Boom, window works!
I'm not sure if it's a short, or bad contacts in the motor, or what, but it works every time the window sticks down.
Maybe this will work for someone else...

I had that problem with my 97 Ranger. Solution was the same.
Same problem occured with the Navajo. Worked for a couple of times. I ended up changing the motor gears (see bushing thread).

I believe it is a thermal breaker in the motor that stops the motor when you raise and lower it to it's full position. I had to bang on the door also I believe it was binding in the full down position due to ware. I wound up changing out the scissor motor mechanism my passenger side. I did the bushings on the driver door but that has different symptoms. When the bushings were bad you could here the motor trying to run but the window skipped or need help.Hope this helps

The one touch module is the culprit. You are better off replacing the module.

Yep nice one line answer.

The current limiter that stops the motors is in the one touch module.
