Power window not working!

The drivers side window doesnt go up or down anymore. I opened the panel to look inside and find the cause and didnt see anything. I can hear the motor try to raise and lowed it but doesnt move the window. Anyone have any ideas to the cause of this?

My parents crown victoria did the same thing. The motor made a noise like it was trying to pull the window down but it wouldnt. I took the panel off and like an old starter that wouldnt move i hit the motor a few times with a hammer while playing with the switch and the window started working again but only for a few days then it got stuck up again.

I went to a local junk yard and picked up a used window motor and now it works fine. Cost me $30 bucks ... ford wanted i think $170 for a new one.

Im going to go to the junk yard to find me a new motor, hope that fixes my problem.
