94 explorer, riders side...happened couple of times now. Window stays down regardless of which switch is depressed(drivers or riders). Have to pop the door card off and when I hit the motor with 12v from my battery charger, up she goes, and will then work as normal. Thinking accuator motor going bad... any ideas or advice would be great!

You might want to check the switch itself. But before you go buying that piece in the dealer, go check the electrical plug. It might have come loose. Make sure its tight. Spraying some electrical spray might help get some 10 year old crud off as well.

thanks for the thought X, but switches check fine as does the connection in the door. Can hear the relay clicking when switches are depressed. (AHH!, note to self; check incoming VOLTAGE at the door junction next time window sticks down.) Read up on all the posts on this problem(should have done that first). Feel armed with the proper knowledge now so will tackle the problem IF it occurs again.

had a 94GT convertible that did the same thing. Couldn't let the window all the way down or it wouldn't come back up. I managed to get it jumped back up similar to what you did. It was basicly just a dead spot in the motor, you can either monitor the window and don't let it go ALL the way down, or get another motor.
