This site was extremely helpful, and becuase of the excellant advise here I found the problem to my "window Nightmare" but...Yes the problem is in the wires that are in the door jam. It seems the previous owner had the same problem once. All 4 windows were stuck in the up position. I grabbed the wires and moved them in a circular motion and the window started working but only when I was putting pressure (pulling) on the wires. I can expose about 4 to 5 inches only of wire and the black one looks like it has been worked on before, as its not in the bundle and much longer than the rest. With this in mind do I work on the black one first and how do you with such limited space? I got the window back up thank god, just like it has been for the last year! P.S. God bless the United States Armed Forces, my nephew is a Marine serving in Afghanistan. I did my time as a sniper, hes continuing the tradition!

Welcome! Is your 2002 a 4-door Explorer or a Sport Trac, since they are completely different body styles in 2002??
