I figured I'd post the question as see if there were any bright ideas on where to poke around before I just started looking at EVERYTHING

I took the forward interior out to access the access door in the floor so I can begin my transfer case swap. I decided I should pull the battery when I was messing with the center console just to be on the safe side. I then realized when I had it all done and pulled apart that my windows were down... this is a problem as it will be in my driveway outside for the next few days.

INTERESTING PART
so I rehooked my battery up and tried to roll up both front windows at once (not an odd procedure) and they went up a half an inch then I heard a shorting noise. I checked all my fuses and my manual says the power is drawn from the same source as the power locks... which work fine. my rear windows will not move either, but they were up.

I have unhooked the battery hoping for some sort of "reset" (it has worked on other vehicles)

Next step is to find the relays... anyone know where they are?

then pull the drivers door panel and do some electrical checks (need to replace a lock core anyway... good excuse)

while check your fuses again.... I don't believe power for the locks is the same as the window... why?... cause your locks work when you have no key... hence "hot at all times" versus the windows which work basically "hot in run".

windows work fine now.

I went back out and hoked everything back up, nothing on the windows worked again

so I was going to move my car and put the truck in the garage

when I got the truck into the garage something made me want to check the windows... they worked

somehow starting the truck made them work

I'll be pluggin the battery into the charger this evening
