Power windows won't work?

About a month ago my windows started acting up they would work then not work then I could slam the door and they would work. during this time I had blown the main fuse under the hood that controlled the inside fuse box. Then finally my windows won't work at all only the four door windows the back one works. I hav checked all fuses motors and the switch and ther all good. Since they quit working theirs something that clicks sometimes that sounds like its coming from my door. A buddy is telling me its the Gem module that's $365 n gotta b programmed and from what I've read usually more goes wrong than jus the windows when the gem module goes bad. Anyone had any problems like this your info would be appreciated before I go spend a bunch of $ thanks

A lot of power window problems stem from a broken wire in the boot from the body to the door. I'd examine that before going any farther. Your "slamming door" comment supports this suggestion.

Maybe slamming the door knocked the window off the track? Not sure if this would affect the other windows.
