I just installed my used Premium CD (F87F-18C815-CA) that I got from the local boneyard in my '95 XLT, that previously had the Premium sound F57F-19B165-CE and it should work- everything plugs in, and the stereo sounds great. However, the CD playet doesn't work.

I see this:

after that screen it flashes what I think says "Init"
Won't pull the cd in, won't eject anything.

I can return it, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything dumb.

Help... need tunes...

Well, At some point in the rumblings of an install, the CD player decided to power up. So, dumb me loads a CD, starts to play, and goes to the next track. Then it stops, shows the CD Err again, and now I can't get my CD out. Sooooo, I guess it's a CD player issue, and I'll be returning the CD player to the boneyard tomorrow. :( Guess I'll keep looking for another single CD unit. Anyone got one with that part number? That's the one I need for my '95 truck...

At least I did confirm to myself that the above part number green display unit will plug and play into the '95 with premium sound

I have one

I have one of these radios. I bought it used from someone that installed an aftermarket radio in its place. I put it in my Class C motorhome and just removed it for a navigation radio. It works perfectly and there is not a single scratch on it. Let me know if you're interested in buying it. Contact me at bdpeterson@verizon.net.

Thread was revived- solved this one at the end of last year...
