Boys..looking for some help from you all. I am seriously considering throwing some new 20" wheels and tires on the 97 X. I live in Canada, although that shouldn't really matter considering our dollar is at par with the American one. But anyways, what are some resonable prices to be looking at for a 20" chrome with a 275/45/20 tire? I was quoted for packages to start at $1900 including tax (or $53/monthly financing). That includes all the balancing, installation, etc. Resonable? Or does it sound a bit pricey?

THANKS!

One last thing..I was told by the "NationalTireWholesale" that new brakes are NOT needed for a 20" rim and tire. I am confused, as most of you guys say it is a MUST. Help!!! :)

I have 20s. I paid $1400 for them used with tires. They looked new. Buying new is not the best way. The helos I bought would have been like $2500. ALso you dont need bigger brakes, but the wheels are heavier and it takes longer to stop. I had a close call so I changed my brakes. I upgraded to powerslot rotors and got HAWK pads. Also painted calipers red. Looks clean...

Only problem with looking around for a used package is my knowledge of all the aspects needed for a proper fitment, etc. I am confused from offsets, to backspacing, to a proper tire size, and everything in between. I have searched around on Craigslist in my area..not alot of choice. What kind of $ did you dish out for the new rotors and pads?

1400 would be a solid solid price that I would be willing to pay. 1900 seemed steep, but I guess everything is "included" in the install. Hmmm?

I got my wheels on eBay. The guy had them on a explorer so I knew they would work. As for the brakes, it was over $300 to do that. I would say you could just get wheels, then later do brakes. It was very driveable. Or maybe I can sell you my wheels? I am looking into getting new ones. PM me. They are a little more worn now then photos.
