Hey gang,
Now that the lift is finally done (hold the applause), new tires are in order. Was looking seriously at the Goodyear MT/R's, but now that Procomp has the Xterrains on sale (buy 3, get 1 free) I am leaning that route. Any idea how good these new tires are? Anyone have them - seen them yet?

I think these may be apples to oranges. I really like the MTR's as I plan on buying a set of 35's in Nov. I dont know price on procomps, but I did find out something cool from the goodyear dealer in town. He told me to call back on a given date because they run something not advertised called a Spike Sale, he basically said they sell certain tires for the price Employees can buy them for. I wrote a thread a while back asking if $155 a tire from tire rack was a deal and folks around here said it was, well he agreed but told me tire rack is nearly $20 a tire to ship them, and there is no road hazard. This spike sale he speaks of has quoted me a price almost like tire racks. It was like $640 for 4 35x12.5's mounted balanced and road hazzarded. He said I had to wait until the week of Nov 12th but to call him the week before that. If you want to persue this, let me know, I will dig up the card and we can see if It is good at Goodyear in Fla.

Dannyboy - you are the man!

Keep me posted - or tell me who to contact... The MT/R's are the tire I want, but I can't resist the fact the ProComps are so much less. But - if I can get the MT/R's for 650+/-, I am all over them!

BTW - They're good in mud, right? :)

You going to put 35's on your beast? If you do, then I can't be out done. I might have to break out the body lift and order me a set of those tires! I can't be out done by another white Explorer, not to mention one that I had to tow over a little hill 6 months ago!

Just kiddin man! I got to admit, I think the best thing that ever happened to you was to blow out your rear diff at Attica. You got bit HARD by the lift bug! Maybe you'll be pulling me over hills from now on!!!!!!

My grin is ear to ear right now, and yes, I initially lifted mt truck 3" with a body lift and then wanted to go to attica to see what everyone else was running and figured I would run a 2" jacker with some 33's, well now I sit with 9" of lift and the only thing that makes sense is to run 35's after putting in the 4.56's, what 4.56's oh yeah I'm getting these from diff whack daddy out of Tdavis's rig. I wanted 4.10's and 33's but I figured why do I want 33's when someone else is running 35's. Dammit, I hate this bug, so does everyone around me. I have 32's and some chicks came up to my roommate in the bars and said "do you have a big white Explorer" and he said "No it's my roommates" and they said "Cool but it needs bigger tires" WTF chix are nockng my ride, and then I see this guy who runs a Fab shop and tell him I may want to lengthen my drive shafts in my explorer and he says "is it the white one" so now I am a LaCrosse Legend gotta love that, and John not if but when we wheel again I will be for real. just a matter if I make it big enough for the disbelievers and believers

i don't know much about either tire, but those goodyear mt/r tires look bad a$$! saw some on a pickup and on two dodge durangos here and they really have a mean look to them. the xterrains look nifty too, but i haven't seen them anywhere yet. i don't know anything about performance of each. just thought i'd give my opinion on their appearance.

I am running the 35x12.50x17 on my Sport Trac. They are the ProComp Mud terrain and they do great! I went out for a night in the mud last night and they did great. Just thought I would throw my two cents in. They look great to.
