I have the 2004 EB and experienced the same issue recently. I found that where the filler pipe takes a 90* turn to enter the gas tank that the hose was pinching flat.
I didn't want to replace it now as I'm a little cheap, and winter is here (Winnipeg Canada) so I simply took 2 ring clamps and placed them where the hose was pinched the worst and tightened them to create it's original circular shape. I can now fill it at a steady rate without the auto shutoff happening, but it won't fill at the maximum pump flow rate, so it's better than before but not perfect.
I'll change it in the future if the problem persists. It's no fun pumping gas at -20c plus a windchill and the pump shutting off 30-40 times to fill the tank so I know how you feel.
