Trying to help out a friend. She has a 1999 Moutaineer not even sure if it has DRL's or not as looking thru some of the posts here it seems like it was an option and not standard. Couple weeks ago she hit a deer that wiped out the passenger side headlight, foglight, and turn signal. Well a few days afterwards her tail lights stopped working. Headlights still came on with the switch and blinkers, flashers and brake lights worked. She thought it was the switch so she bought a new one. Didn't fix it. And while her boyfriend was fishing around with a voltmeter something popped and the headlights stopped working. After finding a fuse blown now that wasn't before they swapped it, no change. Figuring they fried the switch again they swapped it with another new one. No luck. SO now the headlights and tail lights don't work. Flashers, blinkers and brake lights all work. I think the initial problem may have been related to something shorting out in the wiring harness in one of the destroyed lights as not only were the lights trashed but the plugs themselves were damaged. Any ideas to get me started? Is there another module that could have been fried? Thanks in advance as I inherited a good one this time.

Are you certain you found the fuse for the headlight circuit? I believe that is a maxi fuse isn't it? I'm trying to go from memory here

Was the car repaired at a body shop or mechanic after the impact?

If so, I'd bring it back to them and let them find and repair it. It's accident related, so insurance will cover it or the work already performed should be under warranty.
