Hi. I have a 1996 XLT and I am having a problem with my power windows. On the drivres side, I can operate all the windows, but the switches for the other windoes no not work, no matter what position the window lock position is in.
Could anyone give me any suggestions, Also doesn anyone know if the window lock switch locks the other windows when it is an open circut or closed circut? Any information would be helpful.

David,
Thank you for bringing this back up. I have the same problem with my '95 EB. I have tried to bring it up a couple of times, with no success. Mine started doing this after I allowed a 2x4 to rest on the right rear window switch for a little while. I'm fine with it, but it seems to piss off all my passengers.

Any good news for us guys?

Come on is anyone here able to help me? I really don't want to take it to FORD and have to spend $$$$

I don't know if this will help you or not, but my '99 window lock switch is OPEN for lock and CLOSED for unlock. LOL!

Good point GR899V8. I always forget about Occam's Razor: "The simplist explanation is usually the correct one." I chase out my window probalem for a few days, only to find a bad connection to the fuse.

Before I took it to FORD, actually I wounldn't take them anything, I'd call a salvage yard and buy a used switch. I'd think it could only be a fuse, the wiring or the switch. I'd find an independent mechanic and spend the money I saved on other things I don't need.;)

I'm having the same problem w/ my 92 EB. I've checked the window lock switch and it appears to function properly (based on resistance measurements). I've also checked voltage at each of the other (3) window switches and verified 12VDC (with window lock switch unlocked). The other window switches also seem to be working fine. Not sure what else to check.
