So here's the deal ... my old remote finally bit the dust and died. Now it had died once before and I replaced the battery and it was as good as new. This time it wasn't the case. Also note that when it died the first time the memory of my car was lost and I had to reprogram the remote.
So I look around and find a remote to our 2002 Ford Escape. I take out the battery for a good period of time and then program it for my car. Im sure you can see where this is going. I go to lock my doors and I lock it twice to hear the horn and well guess what I hear two different car's horns honk.
I hit the panic button after that for fun, although it was quite humurous it does present quite a problem. How on earth do you deprogram these little things? Taking the battery out worked for my original remote but it doesnt seem to work for this newer one.
Thanks
