have just gotten new LED headlights and canbus error-free module to hook onto it and still cannot get high and low beams just switch back and forth just wondering if anybody knew how to get that to work

Do the lights come on at all? Have you tried them without the module? What lights and module are you using? What vehicle are you working on?

You do not have canbus, and since it is an XLT, you "probably" don't have the headlight out monitoring module either. Even if you did have that module, it would not prevent the lights from working, would just give a lights out message on the console display.

If you have the correct bulb type, it should be plug and play. If you had to cut and graft wires, recheck your work. If you have put LED bulbs in the stock headlight/bulb housings, it is now illegal to use on public roads and the solution is put regular incan bulbs back in.

Ultimately you can check them by pulling them out, running a couple wires to your battery, one of them fused in case there is a short in the LED bulb driver, then connect power and ground for high beam, then for low beam to test the bulb.

If they are specified for a wide input voltage range (some are up to 24V or even 30VDC input) you could use jumper wires on an up to 20V cordless tool battery instead of having to test at the hood from the vehicle battery. Just make sure you get the polarity right if they are not polarity protected.

I'm interested in this for the future, my 99 I work with I need the lights to be on for four hours a day. The incandescent bulbs will wear out the wiring and fixtures eventually, using LED's is worth the trouble if it can be done without too much trouble.
