problems with my explorer starting

I have a 2001 ford explorer sport an just one day it didn't want to start an now idk wat to do my friends have told me bout a green an purple wire that will disable it but i don't want to mess anything up then i heard something bout a proxcimity senor or module idk something like that i really need to get it running again its been bout 7 month that she's been parked so if anybody has any solutions id really appreciate it thank you

which engine?

If you provide more information members may be able to help you. Which engine: OHV V6 or SOHC V6?

What are the symptoms: starter doesn't crank, starter cranks but engine doesn't run, etc.
