Well, this is gonna be my first time gettin someone to install a TV and PS2 into my SUV. How will this work, if I want to run it through the stock system? I have a button for a SAT system for Sirius but I don't need it, so can I run the system through there, so when I click on SAT anything playing on the PS2/TV will be outputted through my car speakers? I'm not big or systems, so i don't want to add speakers, change the head unit, or anything like that. All I want is a clean setup. The reason I'm doing this is I found a PS2 just layin around at one of my dads places so what better place to put it then my X.

Also, how much do you think someone would charge to install a flip down and PS2? Any recommendations where to put the PS2?

As far as I know, stock ford units don't have RCA inputs unless '04s come with them now. But I would still suggest that you go find a new headunit for $170 and eliminate 50% of your problems.

Briway, so one of those will allow me to connect a flip down and a PS2 to work with my SUVs system?

Interstate, I could, but money is VERY short. I have to buy new tires, rechrome/repair 2 rims, and pay for a new exhaust. I don't have to install this flip down and PS2, but it'd be nice yah know.

Thanks guys

Sorry, didn't really realize how much more you had to pay for.

Check your flip down kit to see if it has inputs on it or hidden inputs. Most car TV's are anticipating game systems, DVD/VHS players, and other things to work with their products.

Yah, that's ok.

Circuit City said if I get an FM Modulator, bout $50, it can go through my system with just about any flip down I get.

About flipdowns, whats the best for like $300. I'm looking at eBay stuff. And remember, I'm on a very low budget

i don't think your gonna want your ps2 through FM modulator...it's gonna have radio quality, i'm not a fan of them.

Radio quality isn't that bad, what else can be done to keep the stock head unit in place? Just the auxilary input converter?

With some of the $300 for the monitor you should get a new HU.

I can get a monitor AND head unit for $300? I want atleast a 12" flipdown...

12" is gonna be more then 300$, have you checked around at local stores? or online? most 7" are close to 300$... I think your thinking this is gonna be cheaper then it really it is. Price it out and then see if you still wanna do it.

I checked on eBay and 12" monitors are around $220. It's still a better idea to upgrade your stock system than add onto it.

I maybe jumped the gun a little bit. I'm not sure if they have one yet that works with '04 X's. What it does is it plugs into the CD changer port on the HU and gives you RCA inputs that you can use to hook up whatever you want to it. It works good.

Thanks Briway.

Husky, it's too much, they'll get me for installation too. If I get a flipdown for $300, installation is $200, PS2 install is $40, FM Modulator is ~$50. That's what CC told me (except the flipdown). So that'll run me close to $600, which is around what I want to spend.

My expenses are f'ed up, everything comes at once lol, not spread out so I can work on raising money :(

Not to be a smartarse, but a TV and PS2 in your vehicle isn't really an expence, more of a luxury. You should really pay off what you owe, then save up for what you can afford later.

yea but (i'm assuming phils teens/college kid) us youngins like to reverse that ...i make payments to my rents so I can buy the stuff i want now! I kno my limits though and when i get on my own i kno i'll have to switch my thinking to pay for what i need not what i want!

which is why i buy what i want now...before i get out in the real world and have fat expenses to cover :(

Yup it's sorta like that.

I don't have anything to pay off, just not enough to pay for it all. If I never found this extra PS2 just layin around, I woulda never got the idea.
