What year of Police Interceptor Utility have a factory drain plug for PTU?
I know that they can be tapped to create a drain plug , but some have factory drain plug installed to make changing the fluid much easier.

My 2018 FPIU 3.7L NA has a drain plug on the PTU.
I'd also recommend extending the PTU vent line and using that to fill; that access will make your life a lot easier.

All PIU's have a drain plug. The Explorers didn't all have it though.

Good to know, otherwise I would have tapped a drain plug for better access. Thanks.

A Ford Tech mentioned that you still need to undo the fill plug, so that you get the full amount of fluid into the PTU. Once it starts coming out you know its the right amount.
What diameter of hose did you use for the extension? Also wondering if you can fit your vent cap on the end of the of you extended hose?
Thanks for the info.

Open the drain plug and catch the fluid. Add via the extended vent tube the same amount that comes out....

That's exactly what I did. Measured what I took out, then used a fluid hand pump syringe thing to inject the same amount in the vent line and purge it.

I followed this excellent YouTube video from FordTechMakuloco. Used 5/16 hose and a barb coupler, and the vent cap did fit perfectly on the end of the extension.

On my 2018 FPIU I did the same thing. Not too complex.
