I hope you can help me. I live in New York and own a 2002 Ford Explorer. Under the right and left outside sideview mirrors is a black molded plastic Lens Housing with a clear plastic lens bottom, which I snapped the flanges off this morning replacing the bulbs. It is the puddle lamp lense housing. The housing shows the following on it: Britax-Made in Australia-Housing Lens. It has the following casting numbers on it: 1407006; 1506563; M80627; 3; and says 13 watts max, and has the number 24J9 melted into it. I went to a local Ford dealer and they said I have to purchase both left and right entire side view mirror assembly for a lot of money ($150 each minimum) to get just the lenses, and no local junk yards have the part. Can you please assist me? Anyone know where I can buy just the two lenses. Please e-mail me back at Larry.Barasch@cbmoves.com. Look forward to your responses. Thanks. Larry.

Check ebay. That's where I got mine a few years ago for like 40.00. It even came with the defrost type mirror.

The same thing happened to me when I changed the burnt out bulbs, the plastic lens on the bottom shattered.

I just used an old CD case and a hefty pair of scissors to create a new clear lens. Then I attached the lens with a tiny amount of clear silicon caulk.

Start by creating a paper template in the shape of the old lens, then use that as a guide for cutting out the new piece of plastic.

Good luck.
