That's where it is. Its attached to the canister actually.

...the other place to look would be follow the vacuum hose from the cannister to under the intake manifold...for some reason some are wired up there...

Humm, it may not be on the canister if its a 93?? I thought I saw a 97 somewhere

sorry i had to edit profile . i have a 97 Explorer XL . the canister was actually twin canisters . was the item attached a purge valve . i had an after market purge valve and it did not look the same . i saw another post that said it was near the intake manifold
