Put CDX6 Changer into a '97XLT?

I've read the FAQ and all the posts here relating to the CDX6 in-dash changer and have managed to confuse myself with facts!

I've got a 1C3F-18C815-AB CDX6 unit I want to install into my '97XLT in place of the factory installed "Premium" (not JBL) AM/FM/Cassette unit.

Naturally, the connecters don't match between the new unit and the car's existing wiring. Is there a wiring harness adapter available that would allow me to install the CDX6 into my beloved '97? Will the CDX6 model I have work with my non-subwoofered car?

Any assistance or suggestions for URLs to visit will be greatly appreciated. (Cobrajeff you out there????)

The 1C3F-AB CDX6 radio (Premium Sound w/o SW) is the right one to replace your 1997 "Premium" cassette. I have heard that there are adapter harnesses available for this swap - but, I do not have a part number or source. Since the CDX6 has an internal amp, you will probably also need an amp bypass harness.

Guess it's time to start searching for wiring diagrams and warming up the soldering iron.

One more time through Google before I quit searching for an adaptor.
