Ok so just pull the actual black MAF sensor w/ torx screws in it; out and clean it with Denatured-Alcohol and put it back in, what about the actual screen in the MAF canister? also how do i go about cleaning the TB?

Yea,the screen you would have to pull the maf to clean,I wouldn't mess with it if it doeant look dirty.you got to pull the tube off the tb and spray it down and prop the butterfly open and clean it with a towel.might want to do a good seafoam also and go from there.

when i did the o2 sensors and everything else they were the day after seafoaming, so pull our the MAF sensor, clean it with Denatured-Alcohol (wtf is Denatured-Alcohol) and then the TB, open the buttefly, spray the hell outa it with TB cleaner and then wipe it down with a LINT free towel?

I used a no residue electronics cleaner

I used a no residue electronics cleaner.also try unplugging your aic wile running and see if your rpms change.

FYI. Auto places no longer sale bit by its self you havta get the 10 dollar pack and it comes with 7 in it. Also Denatured-Alcohol is at Menards in 5 Gal 3 gal and 1.5 gal

Im gonna clean the MAF now and TB, reset the ECM and hope it works. If not then what do I start looking at?

Also a comment back on the back pressure.. Will it throw the codes off that I got?

KOER
172
(R,M)
Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean - Single, Right or Rear HO2S - Fuel control
536
(O,R,M)
Brake On Off open or shorted to ground - BOO

thats the codes I get now that the MAF is cleaned and TB is cleaned. Its running good (for now).

So now what, is that Rear h02s the one that is the long cord?

Sounds like a bad O2 sensor to me. I've had the 172 code a few times.

And check your brake switch. When driving, does you brake pedal cancel your cruise control? Do you have brake lights?

It's a simple switch to replace.

I know this is gonna sound retarded but can you use the same O2 sensor from teh front in the back.. even tho the further back is has a longer cord?

yes

is that what the code means is the further back one?

I believe it is the right side. Mine only has 2, one on each down pipe. I think the 2nd Gen's have 3.

Rear then. If that doesn't clear the code, move it to the other location. ;)

lol man that one in the rear is a PITA if you dont have the long cord one... ill c what i can do, ill drive it around tomorrow and see if cleaning the maf worked, havent touched the IAC yet
