Quad Cat's?????

I'm looking to buy an explorer, but just any one, the one i found has a full borla exhuast with 4 catz. my question is ......Why? Does this increase horse power, waste gas...what....what does it do? ohhh yea, it's got the 5.0 init.

doesnt make sense? is the guy BS'ing you? you dont need that many or if you have 1 it should be a high flow, sounds like bull to me. whats everyone else's opinion on this?
