I just purchased a 1991 XLT for my son. The original owners had taken out the factory radio (standard AM/FM Cassette Dec? and had put another unit in. Before sale they removed their unit and put old unit back in. I believe one of the speakers may have a bad ground somewhere.
The vehicle has five speakers. One in each front door and rear door, and one in the back panel in the cargo area. The one in the cargo area has a JBL Audio system label about the grille. However, I know that the radio that is currently in the car, was not one of the ones used in the JBL option.
Is the rear speaker a subwoofer, or is it just a six inch two-way speaker?
We have not removed the old radio yet so I am not sure what the connections look like. I am just trying to figure out what I may have before proceeding.
We are planning to install a new CD player (nothing real far out here), and wish to know any wiring options available.
