Sorry if this has been asked, but I didn't see it anywhere when I searched.

I am looking into the tough country or smittybilt steel bumbers, and was wondering if anybody had done a custom one from say a full size ford truck and modified it to fit. I have an '04 XLT with the 4.0 and A4WD. It is stock right now but about to be changed. I know the rear diff is a 3.73 LSD which isn't the original, but the owner before me had it replaced out of a junkyard. I just replaced all the bearings and seals in it, due the pinion climbing up the ring gear. Now the other question is will the 4.0 produce enough power to move the truck with those types of bumbers while being lifted with 32's or 33's on it?

Thanks in advance, and please give leeway on me answering. I'm at work right now making up time after a trip to the ER for a broken rip.

Thanks Rick. I will look into those shortly. I'm still a bit out from doing the bumbers, but I need ideas so that I can start the design and procurement phases. If can come up with a good, functional, and not uggo design that doesn't weigh a ton either, then I can convince the wife to let me buy my own welder. But first things first, all new suspension and lift, alignment, and tires.
