2003 Explorer XLT
I have a 2003 XLT with the middle of the road factory headunit.

How do I get it to display the clock instead of the Track number? Is there a way that it displays it all the time or do I have to push the clock button everytime I turn on the car or put in a new CD.

Need to lock 18C868 display to default to clock

I have an '03 XLS and this is the same question that drove me to find some place with the answer. In my '99 Sport I recall a a 2 key radio setting that toggled, and locked, the display between clock and Trk No/Freq., but I can find nothing about this in the current manual.

Unit in my XLS is the 18C868 AM/FM/CD/CASS Premium. Don't know the componant change level code.

If anyone has an definitive answer I'd like to hear it.

Thanks.

How about pushing the clock button and holding it for 10 seconds or so.

I'll try that and let you know.

Thanks.

Need to set 18C868 display to default to clock

How about pushing the clock button and holding it for 10 seconds or so.

Tried it and got nowhere. I even held it down until my fingertip turned blue :)

For all I know it may not even be possible to force it to revert to clock instead of Trck #/Freq. So, I'm still looking for definitive answer then.

Well damn. That was my best guess for you.
