Weird noise in factory system

This is very strange..... The best way to describe this noise is a medium to low frequency laser gun kind of sound that is intermittently running through all my speakers and sounds like they have all been blown apart when it happens..... The noise only occurs when playing a CD or cassette - never with the radio and seems to be related to the music being played - when a loud low end pop comes through, like a loud kick drum or bass guitar pop. It doesnt matter how loud or quiet my volume is, it still does it at all volumes and the volume of the noise adjusts with the volume I have the knob set at...

Any ideas?

I have the factory JBL system with cassette and subwoofer and 6 disc changer in a 96 XLT.
 






Do you have an aftermarket head unit? When I had mine put in, they informed that I had to have some more wires that needed to be run to bypass my fatory amp. The amps will only work with stock head units.
