'03 Exp. Sport XLT 4.0 15K miles;...Noticed recently that after sitting for a few days when initially turning on the A/c, it makes (For lack of a better discriptive) a 'brrrp' type noise. Think it always has. If you turn it off and back on it doesnt do it. Only after sitting a few days..This is an EXTREMELY light use vehicle. (See mileage) Weekend vehicle essentially, and is maintained religiously...Anyone experienced this? Normal? What causes it? Could there be rust (Kinda like brake drums that sit awhile) that forms during the downtime, which upon initial clutch hookup causes this?
Thanks

I'm not to experience with this, but i'd have to say its just cycling and it makes that noise after its been sitting a while since it hasn't cylced. Pretty sure you don't have to worry about rust forming. Is your A/C still cold? If so maybe you need a recharge.

You might hear the vacuum controlled door closing that closes the heater core, and opens the evaporator. Turn on your heat, then your A/C, and listen for the same type of sound. This is also in the wrong section. It should be in the A/C, and heater section.
